🌊 Water Part. 2

Welcome back to our deep dive into the world of water. In Part 1 we explored the physical contaminants lurking in our tap water and what we can do about them. But there's so much more to this life-giving substance than meets the eye. Today, we're venturing into even more fascinating and esoteric territory – the energetic properties and intelligence of water.

Water Has Consciousness - The Revolutionary Work of Dr. Masaru Emoto

If you've been dancing around the edges of alternative health circles for any amount of time, you've likely heard someone mention Dr. Masaru Emoto's water crystal experiments. His work is nothing short of mind-blowing and has been both celebrated and criticized since he first published "The Hidden Messages in Water" back in 2004.

Dr. Emoto's core discovery? Water appears to respond to human intention, emotions, words, and even music by forming different crystalline structures when frozen. Positive words, thoughts, or beautiful music resulted in aesthetically pleasing, symmetrical crystals. Conversely, negative words, thoughts, or jarring music produced distorted, asymmetrical formations.

Beauty in Crystal Form

Mainstream science has largely dismissed these findings, citing concerns about selection bias and lack of blinded protocols. If you know me, I tend to have a baseline layer of skepticism toward anything from mainstream science, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise… But isn't that always the story with boundary-pushing research? The work remains profoundly thought-provoking, especially when you consider that our bodies are roughly 60% water. If water can indeed be "programmed" by intention or energy, what might that mean for our health? So consider the intentions we even speak to ourselves so as to invoke the divine crystal structures that make up our being.

The Fourth Phase of Water: Beyond Solid, Liquid, and Gas

Another fascinating researcher in this domain is Dr. Gerald Pollack from the University of Washington, who discovered what he calls the "fourth phase of water" or "structured water." This isn't your typical H₂O – it's H₃O₂, forming a crystalline, gel-like structure with negative charge that excludes impurities.

This "exclusion zone" (EZ) water forms naturally next to hydrophilic surfaces and may explain many biological phenomena. It's found abundantly in living organisms and might be key to cellular function. The most mind-bending part? This structured water is charged by light energy, particularly infrared light.

Think about it – when you're soaking up sunshine, you're literally charging the water in your body. This could explain why we instinctively feel better after time in nature or sunlight. The implications for health are massive, yet this research remains relatively obscure in conventional circles. Another nod to the importance of sunshine and perhaps why these winter months we’re emerging out of can be so challenging energetically.

The Intelligence of Water

Beyond its structural properties, mounting evidence suggests water might possess a form of "intelligence" or information-processing capacity:

  1. Water responds to subtle energy: Researchers like Konstantin Korotkov have documented changes in water's properties when exposed to healing intention using gas discharge visualization techniques.

  2. Water and sound vibrations: Cymatics experiments show water forming geometric patterns when exposed to specific sound frequencies – literally dancing to different tunes. Check out my friend Chris’ epic IG page where you can literally see it in action.

  3. Homeopathy's mechanism?: While controversial, homeopathy's potential effectiveness might be explained by water's ability to retain an "imprint" of substances previously dissolved in it, even when diluted beyond the point where molecules of the original substance remain. Homeopathic medicine has had a huge impact on my life.

  4. Sacred water sources: From Lourdes to the Ganges, cultures worldwide revere certain water sources for healing properties that sometimes defy conventional explanation. Is there something more happening at these sites beyond placebo?

I've personally experimented with structured water devices and noticed subtle differences in how the water feels, tastes, and affects my energy levels. Is it placebo? Maybe. But I've learned to trust my body's intuitive signals about what nourishes it. I also just find it fun and cool, sometimes, that’s all the justification I need.

Practical Ways to Energize Your Water

Want to experiment with water's energetic properties yourself? Here are some methods ranging from the scientific to the more esoteric:

Vortexing: Creating a vortex in water by stirring vigorously or using a magnetic stirrer increases oxygen content and potentially creates structured water. I use this device called the Vitalizer Plus.

Sunlight charging: Place glass bottles of water in direct sunlight for 1-4 hours. The infrared radiation helps build that structured "EZ" water we discussed earlier.

Intention setting: Following Emoto's work, try setting a positive intention, expressing gratitude, or placing written words like "love" or "gratitude" on your water container.

Sound frequencies: Play harmonic music near your water or use sound bowls to create resonant frequencies.

💡 Interesting Experiment: Fill two identical plants with the same water, but speak kindly to one and negatively to the other for a week. There’s a lot of evidence you can find online of people doing this with strong evidence that the water and plant consciousness is real.

Beyond the Woo: Why This Matters

You might be thinking this all sounds a bit "out there" – and fair enough. I float between skepticism and open-minded curiosity myself. But consider this:

Every tradition across human history has revered water as sacred. From baptism to ritual bathing, from holy wells to water offerings – something in our collective intuition recognizes water as more than just a chemical compound.

Modern quantum physics increasingly suggests consciousness and matter are intertwined in ways we're only beginning to understand. Water, being uniquely receptive and prevalent in all life, may be the perfect medium for this intersection.

Whether water truly holds memory or consciousness remains scientifically controversial. But asking these questions opens doors to understanding our relationship with the natural world in richer ways.

The Deeper Conspiracy?

If water can be energetically influenced, imagine the implications. The structure and energy of the water in our bodies might be affected by the electromagnetic fields we're constantly exposed to, the thoughts we habitually think, even the environments we inhabit.

This might explain why some health traditions emphasize blessing food and water, why spring water from pristine sources feels so different, or why certain environments feel more nourishing than others.

The biggest conspiracy might be the reduction of water to a mere chemical formula, H₂O – when it may be the most responsive, dynamic, information-carrying substance on earth.

What's your experience with water? Have you noticed differences in how various waters make you feel? Ever tried any of these energizing techniques? Reply to this email – I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts and experiences as we continue this journey toward radical well-being together.

🤩 Event Review - Soul Expansion

I’ve lived in Toronto my whole life. Having lived in different neighbourhoods and engaged in various lifestyles and activities, as well as businesses and beyond. And in my 32 years here, it really feels like we’re in a bit of a golden age of city living these days. Phenomenal businesses, people, events, experiences and ways of making living in this city truly enjoyable.

Of these phenomenal events and experiences one can partake in, Soul Expansion might be the creme de la creme, and I had the pleasure of attending their season opener this past Monday at the Illuminarium in the Distillery District - a venue providing wall-to-wall visuals that make for a truly captivating and immersive experience to complement the potency of the concert itself.

Soul Expansion

Soul Expansion is described as a concert for your soul. And my experience and that of so many others would certainly validate that.

It’s an 8-piece band offering a multi-sensory experience using the power of breath and live music to recalibrate your nervous system, open your heart and entertain you in a truly and healthy novel way. A creative combination of story-telling, music and breath that does exactly as advertised - expanding the soul.

Led by a dear friend, the Wellness Elvis himself, Freddy Gervasi, along with an incredibly talented band including Violin (Zack), Bass (Aaron), Guitar (Gian), rotating Keys, Sax and ethereal vocals from the one and only Arkaya. The band shares an experience unlike anything out there and is really putting wellness entertainment in Toronto on the map.

The highlight for me is always seeing tons of familiar faces and community members coming together with curiosity and glee for what the show will entail. And perhaps the most fun of all is the evident opening of everyone’s hearts by the end of the show where everyone is radiating a loving glow and open hearts to share with one another.

If you are reading this - consider it your invitation and strong recommendation to join me at their next show April 28th at Offworld Bar in Queen West.

You can check out other events for the conscious consumer on the open calendar here. It’s updated daily, so feel free to bookmark it or check back regularly.
